The New York State Cancer Services Program
The Cancer Services Program (CSP) provides breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings at NO COST to women and men who:
- Do not have health insurance OR have health insurance that does not cover the cost of these screenings
- Cannot pay for these screenings
- Meet income eligibility requirements
- Meet age requirements
- Live in New York State

The Center for Health & Healing at Beth Israel Medical Center

- Weekly Meditation Sessions (PDF) - The Center for Health and Healing offers Zen meditation to patients, practitioners and the general public on Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:00 PM. Sessions consist of brief instruction followed by a 25-minute meditation session. Free and open to the public!
- Workshops and Healing Sessions - Free or minimal fee classes include: Weekly Mediation Sessions, Food for Thought, and Sport and Nutrition Lectures.
- Center Programs - For-fee Programs include: Mindfulness Mediation, and Stress Management for an Urban Lifestyle (group session).

HIV Testing at The Graduate Center
The Wellness Center offers s a simple blood test for HIV and results arrive in a few weeks. There is a small fee for the blood work.
William F. Ryan Community Health Network
The William F. Ryan Community Health Network, which has several locations in Manhattan, offers FREE confidential rapid-HIV tests. It’s a painless finger-stick test which produces results in just 20 minutes. In addition to the test, their staff will provide comprehensive, confidential counseling and will connect you quickly to medical services if needed. For information, or appointment call:

Mount Sinai Comprehensive Health-Downtown

Mount Sinai offers the HIV rapid test free at their Seventh Avenue location. Walk-ins are welcome and the facility offers same-day results. Clinic hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30am - 5:00pm, and Thursdays from 8:30am - 7:00pm.

GMHC is the world’s first and leading provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and advocacy. The organization offers inclusive services for men, women, families and youth, including HIV counseling, testing, health information, education, risk-reduction strategies, referrals and partner notification services. People who want to be tested must complete an intake and consent to testing. Referrals for additional supportive services are also available. Syphilis testing is also avaliable. All services are free of charge.
The Testing Center will see clients four times a year (every 3 months) for HIV and STI testing services. Please allow 5-10 minutes to complete an intake form prior to being seen by a test counselor.
The Testing Center is open Monday – Wednesday from 9:30 am – 4 pm for walk-ins, Thursday from 9:30 am – 4 pm for appointments only, and Friday from 12:30 pm – 7 pm for walk-ins.
Please note: Every Wednesday the testing center is closed from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. The Testing Center hours are 12:30 pm – 4 pm the second Friday of each month.
