Alumnus Jeff Kukucka Named a "Rising Star" by APS
Congratulations to Graduate Center alumnus Jeff Kukucka (Ph.D. '14, Psychology) on being named a “Rising Star” in the field of psychological science by the Association for Pychological Science.
Kukucka is an assistant professor of psychology and law at Towson University. His research focuses on the biasing consequences of confession — especially how confessions bias forensic examiners who exhibit a bias blind spot — and observers' relative lack of sensitivity to these issues. Kukucka has served on the Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) for Forensic Science Human Factors Committee since 2019. In 2020, he won the American Psychology-Law Society's Saleem Shah Early Career Award. He was named Professor of the Year at Towson's Honors College in 2018.
We invite everyone in the Psychology and Law training program of the Ph.D.in psychology to join us in honoring Kukucka and all those who supported him throughout his education at The Graduate Center and John Jay College.
