Professor Tracey Revenson Wins Distinguished Mentor Award
Dr. Tracey A. Revenson, Professor of Psychology at Hunter College and Head of the Health Psychology & Clinical Science Training area, will receive the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s (SBM’s) 2020 Distinguished Mentor Award, which will be presented to her at SBM’s 2020 Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions on April 1, 2020. The Distinguished Research Mentor Award honors outstanding service by someone who has fostered excellence in, and had a major impact on, the field of behavioral medicine by virtue of their role as a mentor. This is the second national mentoring award that Dr. Revenson was nominated for by her current and past mentees this year – in August 2019 she received the Excellence in Health Psychology Mentoring award from the Society for Health Psychology of the American Psychological Association. Mentorship has been one of the major foci of Dr. Revenson’s career. Of particular note, Dr. Revenson recently co-authored Becoming a Health Psychologist (Routledge, 2020), which provides advice for health psychologists at all phases of their career.
