Anthropology Program Learning Outcomes
Students will acquire:
1. An understanding of core knowledges in their subfield of anthropology, both orally and in writing;
2. The ability to professionally discuss and generally assess research on a variety of topics within their area of specialization, both orally and in writing;
3. Extensive knowledge of the place(s) in which they will conduct their research;
4. The ability to be conversant in the literature concerning broad topical areas from which they draw specific research problems;
5. The ability to formulate research projects to answer specified questions, write proposals for the project, and carry out the proposed research;
6. The ability to present and defend their own research in presentations and interviews; and
7. Knowledge of and compliance with ethical issues in the field of anthropology, including research involving human subjects.
