New Origami Robot Gently Catches Deep Sea Creatures
Discovery Magazine, 7.18.18
David Gruber, a biology professor with The Graduate Center and Baruch at CUNY, and his colleagues have developed a new way to safely trap delicate marine life using a robotic device that can fold around its targets, according to a paper published in the July 18 issue of the journal Science Robotics. The origami-inspired maching represents a new mode of delicately interacting with marine life, said Gruber.
