ASRC Special Events and Public Engagement oversees events management, public engagement, and educational programs. It is also responsible for coordinating and supporting marketing and communications projects for the ASRC and its five research initiatives.
Communications produces digital and print content for The Graduate Center, including a seasonal newsletter, print materials, webpage content, digital news, content for social media, and special projects, such as executive communications.

Digital Media is responsible for managing digital assets of The Graduate Center and The Graduate Center's institutional design. The division handles and supports digital media projects, including strategy, development, implementation, and ongoing analytics. It also oversees the GC’s visual branding in collateral material.

Media Relations oversees media outreach for The Graduate Center and the ASRC to highlight the institution’s accomplishments and as it relates to reputation management. The division also works with faculty and Ph.D. students to garner press coverage on research, a study, an event, or issue.

Public Programs produces large-scale live events, which bring the public to The Graduate Center to engage with CUNY faculty, students, and outside guests. Events explore the most pressing issues of our time while amplifying the scholarship at The Graduate Center and CUNY. The division works collaboratively with Graduate Center departments, centers, and institutes to showcase CUNY’s intellectual and artistic strengths, advancing our public mission and increasing our impact.

Special Events and Event Planning is responsible for external rental space management and booking of public spaces for internal clients. The division also develops and disseminates policies to ensure effective coordination and efficient management of Graduate Center special events, including Commencement, and it advises faculty, directors of centers and institutes, and heads of offices about organizing and sponsoring special events, lecture series, conferences, receptions, and dinners.
