Read moreBoston Marathon Bombing - Heightened Threat LevelOn Monday, 4/15/13 two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring more than 140. The FBI and Boston Police Department are investigating various leads but as of now it is still unclear who might be responsible for the blast. NYPD Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly announced this morning that while there is no known threat to New York City, NYPD is on heightened alert and is increasing its uniformed presence and taking other special precautions. In addition, the Office of Security & Public Safety will step up perimeter patrols, paying special attention to parked vehicles and unattended packages. Read moreUpdate - Office thefts on 4/6/09 On Wednesday, 4/22/09, at approximately 10:35AM, two of the three suspects involved in the 4/6/09 office thefts attempted to enter The Graduate Center. The suspects were detained, NYPD was called and the suspects were taken into custody. The NYPD Detective assigned to the case reported that both suspects confessed and provided valuable information concerning the third suspect. He also said that there was a possibility that some of the stolen property might be recovered. Read moreOffice Thefts on 4/6/09 On Monday, 4/6/09, between 2:20PM and 3:15PM, there were four separate reports of office theft in the building. Pocket books, wallets and portable electronic devices were taken. In three of the cases, the property was left unsecured in unoccupied and open offices.
