  • Alumni News: Thomas Jordan, Doug Meyer and Elizabeth Miller

    News from three GC Alums!

    Thomas Jordan has accepted a new position as the Executive Director of the Bronx Educational Opportunity Center effective March 24th.  Thomas was working as Director of the SEEK Program at York college.

    Doug Meyer has accepted a 3-year Instructor position in the Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program at The University of Virginia.

    Elizabeth Miller, "Cultivating an Unexpected Community: Inclusivity of Immigrant Service Workers in a Wealthy Neighborhood" has been accepted in the forthcoming issue of Journal of Contemporary Ethnography. Her other article "Learning to Interpret Cultural Meaning through an Etic Description of a Familiar Culture" will be released in the October, 2014, issue of Teaching Sociology. Read more

  • Alumni News: Recent Graduate Job Placements

    Three Sociology alumni have new academic positions:

    Zoe Meleo-Erwin, a 2013 graduate, has just accepted a tenure-track position at Eastern Connecticut State University. Zoe was a visiting assistant professor at Hunter this fall.

    Patrick Inglis, another 2013 graduate, has recently accepted the tenure-track offer at Grinnell College starting fall 2014.  Patrick is a Visiting Professor at Grinnell this year.

    Roderick Graham, a 2009 graduate, has accepted a position at Old Dominion University.  Roderick is at Rhode Island college for last few years. Read more
