High-Sensitivity Microsensors on the Horizon

Using quantum mechanics concepts, ASRC Photonics Initiative Director Andrea Alù and his research team, along with researchers at Wayne State University, have developed a new technique for creating highly sensitive, miniaturized, wireless microsensors with the ability to accurately monitor and measure environments previously off limits to researchers. These include toxic areas, vehicle components, and remote areas of the human body.
