Jason Kandybowicz joined the Ph.D. Program in Linguistics in 2015 after serving for three years as an associate professor of linguistics and as director of the KU Field Linguistics Lab at the University of Kansas. His research interests include syntactic theory, syntax-phonology interface, field linguistics and language documentation, and African linguistics, particularly the Niger–Congo languages of West Africa: Nupe, Twi, Krachi, Wasa, Bono. He is the author of The Grammar of Repetition: Nupe Grammar at the Syntax-Phonology Interface (John Benjamins Publishing Company, 2008) and is currently working on two upcoming books. He earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in linguistics from the University of California, Los Angeles and received his B.A., summa cum laude, with departmental honors in linguistics and general honors in philosophy from Rutgers University.
