Training & Professional Development
The Office of Human Resources offers multiple trainings to the Graduate School and University Center community. Certain trainings are mandatory and others are provided for general professional development.
Additionally, the Office of Human Resources is compiling training and professional development workshops offered by CUNY Central and other local resources.
Mandatory Trainings
As a CUNY and Graduate School and University Center employee, certain trainings are mandatory. Learn about the mandatory trainings, including who is required to attend and how often the training must be done, as well as find links to complete online trainings and dates for upcoming trainings in the descriptions below.
Starting Monday, July 20, all employees must do two things before they enter our 365 Fifth Avenue building. These are required by New York state, and we must enforce them by state mandate and for the health and safety of everyone in the building.
1. You must watch a 12-minute safety video before you come to the building.
This course can be accessed by logging into CUNY Blackboard (found under My Organizations section).
2. Before coming to the building each day, you must fill out a short health screening form.
The form is on The Graduate Center’s website here, and you must fill it out prior to entering the building. You will not be permitted access unless you have proof that you completed the form for that day.
The Employee Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Response Course (ESPARC) provides information on CUNY's policies on sexual and interpersonal violence, how to report incidents, and resources to assist in these situations.
In accordance with New York State Law, CUNY employees are required to complete ESPARC upon first hire and annually thereafter. The course must be completed by the end of each academic year (June 30).
