The Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) at The Graduate Center, CUNY elevates scientific research and education at CUNY and beyond through interdisciplinary research across its five major initiatives: environmental sciences, nanoscience, neuroscience, photonics, and structural biology. The ASRC promotes a collaborative research culture with renowned researchers working side-by-side with students and staff. The ASRC Core Facilities provide sophisticated equipment and staff support to researchers across CUNY and beyond. The high-end core facilities and instrumentation in the ASRC, never before available at CUNY and among the very best in the New York City area, allow scientists to expand the scope and scale of their research endeavors.
 
Reporting to the Core Facilities’ Administrative Coordinator, the College Assistant will assist with core facility user on-boarding, and maintaining training records, user and instrument accounts, and core facilities databases.
 
This is a part-time role for 14 hours per week.  The address location for this College Assistant position is:

Detailed duties include:
-Assists users with onboarding and compliance screening
-Assists in the maintenance of user training records.
-Assists staff with scheduling of training sessions.
-Manages core facility user database.
-Manages Badger software system user accounts, instruments, and scheduling. Makes corrections to accounts following notification of errors.
-Assists ASRC facility managers with use of Badger system
-Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
-High school diploma

 

Preferred Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

-Previous experience in a research laboratory environment

-Computer proficiency using standard office software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Salary Range

$20.00-$23.00 per hour
