Journal of Research in Crime and Justice

Todd Clear, Distinguished Professor of Criminal Justice at The Graduate Center and John Jay College of Criminal Justice, received a grant from the National Institute of Justice for a new journal devoted to policy discussions of criminology research findings and he began soliciting manuscripts in June 2000. The inaugural issue of Criminology and Public Policy was published in November 2001, and the journal has since become an official publication of the American Society of Criminology.

Professor Clear also has a grant from the Open Society Institute, matched by the Jeht Foundation, to coordinate studies in ten large cities across the country; these studies will assess the impact of concentrated incarceration on disadvantaged communities.
