The Graduate Center, CUNY


	Facing Fifth Avenue on the main floor of the building, the Amie and Tony James Gallery, at 365 Fifth Avenue (35th Street) is a focal point of the Graduate Center's campus and a conspicuous presence amidst its surrounding commercial storefronts. Under the leadership of its new director Linda Norden, the gallery is generating an ambitious experimental, mostly comtemporary, exhibition program. Its mission is to use these exhibitions to catalyze a dialogue between the contemporary New York art worlds and the scholarly community of the Graduate Center.

People "Weekly"

This inaugural exhibition of the Amie and Tony James Gallery at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, opens Thursday, October 2 and runs through Saturday, February 28. The exhibition comprises seven installations that respond to the Graduate Center as site and context. The projects include a small group show and a specially commissioned project for the building's lobby display windows. The James Gallery is located off the lobby of the Graduate Center at 365 Fifth Avenue (between 34th and 35th Street).
