Knowledge as a Window into Distributed Coordination
This talk will review the knowledge-based approach in distributed systems, show a few fundamental connections between knowledge and multi-party coordination, and illustrate how these can provide insight into the interplay between time and communication in enabling coordination. The talk will be self-contained, intended for a general CS audience. The latter part of the talk is based on joint work with Ido Ben Zvi.
The Colloquium is supported by generous contributions from the Bloomberg, Information Builders, Inc., and Netlogic, Inc.
