Neighborhood

East Harlem's lively, thriving community offers convenient banking, shopping, and restaurants on local streets and at the neighborhood's East River Plaza, home to Costco, Target, Best Buy, and Old Navy. It is an area rich in open space—Central Park's Harlem Meer, Marcus Garvey and Thomas Jefferson parks, and many community gardens—and is home to some of the city's prized cultural institutions.
