Financial Assistance

Introduction

The Graduate Center makes every effort to provide financial assistance for its students. All of our students are afforded the opportunity to apply for sufficient aid to finance their graduate education through a combination of institutional support, which is provided directly from the Graduate Center's financial resources, and federal aid programs. The Graduate Center has expanded its multi-year award packages for incoming students and there are additional sources of funding for students in their second year and beyond. These web pages describe the specific types of financial aid available to Graduate Center doctoral students — Graduate Center and federal aid — and provide additional guidelines on eligibility and criteria for financial aid. In order to maintain their status at the Graduate Center and to be eligible for financial assistance, students must be making satisfactory progress toward the degree.

Please note that criminal convictions for crimes related to controlled substances may result in the unavailability to a student of federal financial aid.
