Mary Clare Lennon

Mary Clare Lennon, Professor of Sociology and Public Health at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, has spent much of her career examining the relationship between gender, socioeconomic status, and health problems. Her recent work has focused on the health and well-being of low-income populations. The co-editor of Policy into Action: Implementation and Welfare Reform and editor of Women and Health: Work, Welfare and Well-Being, she also has contributed to several additional books that examine the mental health of low-income women. She has been a visiting scholar at The Russell Sage Foundation and a visiting research collaborator at Princeton University’s Office of Population Research and the Center for the Study of Child Wellbeing; and she has received significant grant funding from several organizations, including the National Institute of Mental Health, the William T. Grant Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the National Science Foundation.
