IMPORTANT COURSE INFORMATION
All summer courses in the CUNY Graduate Center Language Reading Program meet for 18 sessions (with the exception of the German I-II course for Art History students, which meets for 30 sessions).
Levels
Level One: assumes no knowledge of the language at all. Level Two (available only in French and German): is for students who can translate the language (with difficulty) but need more practice to translate accurately. In these courses, there is a fast review of grammar. Since classes move quickly, the student should be prepared to spend as much time doing the homework for the language courses as he/she would spend for a graduate course.
Course Locations
All courses are held at the CUNY Graduate Center, located at 365 5th Avenue, between 34th and 35th Streets. The rooms in which each course will meet will be emailed to students before classes begin and will also be posted in the lobby of The Graduate Center building on the first day of classes.
Textbooks
At the time of registration, you will receive information about the text(s) required for your course(s). We suggest that you not purchase books until the week immediately preceding the first day of classes, since insufficient registration may force the Program to cancel some courses at the last minute.
Course Cancellation
The University reserves the right to cancel any course if, in its opinion, there is inadequate registration. If a course is cancelled, registrants will receive a complete refund of all money previously paid.
