- Why 'Education Reform' Sends Educators Running
Cathy Davidson, who will join the Graduate Center faculty in July 2014, wrote “Why ‘Educational Reform’ Sends Educators Running for Cover—And How We Can Change That” in the Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory (HASTAC), a coalition of individuals and institutions dedicated to collaborative thinking about teaching and learning innovation. Davidson discusses education reform from K–12 to higher education, the model that is needed to include educators in the redesign at the university and college level, and her role at the Graduate Center as founder and director of the Futures Initiative.
Davidson is currently the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and the Ruth F. DeVarney Professor of English at Duke University. She is also confounder of HASTAC.
