Sounding Communities is a conference dedicated to the exploration of the arts, literature, and music of medieval Iberia. This conference is part of the Encuentros/Encounters series, an annual conference on Iberian and Latin American music that is also being held at UC Riverside earlier this month. This conference series, directed by Walter A. Clark, aims to explore the music of the Iberian Penninsula and Latin America.

The evening will begin with lectures by Dwight Reynolds, Carl Davila, and Lourdes Alvarez. A dinner reception and performance by the New York Andalus Ensemble will follow. A second segment of the conference will be held at Columbia University the following day. We hope to see you there!
